Brimonidine shows its action mechanism by allowing better fluid drainage from within the eye. It also decreases the amount of fluid formed in the eye. Timolol functions by decreasing the amount of fluid formed in the eye. Both of the drugs cause an ocular hypotensive effect inside the eye. By decreasing the fluid production and pressure inside the eye, Combigan helps in treating open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

The dosage regimen of Generic Combigan eye drops:

Before instilling Combigan in the eye, you should first wash your hands. You should tilt your head back and make a pouch by pulling down your lower eyelid down. You have to hold the dropper directly over your eye and instill one drop of Combigan eye drop in the affected eye two times daily for approximately 12 hours apart. You should try not to blink and rub your eyes.

Contraindication of Generic Combigan Brimonidine eye drops:

If you are allergic or hypersensitive to Brimonidine, Timolol or any other ingredient present in Combigan eye drop then you should not use this medication.

Precautions while using Generic Combigan eye drops:

  • Patients should remove their contact lenses before instilling Combigan eye drop and should wait for another 15 minutes for putting in the contact lenses.
  • Combigan eye drop should not be given to a child whose age is less than 2 years.
  • Those who have a problem of COPD, congestive heart failure, myasthenia gravis, thyroid disorder or asthma, should not use Combigan eye drop.
  • Combigan eye drop should not be used by a pregnant and a breastfeeding mother.

Side effects of Combigan eye drops:

Some common side effects of Combigan eye drop include stinging in the eyes, excessive tearing, burning eyes, itchy eyes, headache, dizziness, redness and pain in the eye.
